Wayne Rooney has stepped up his recovery from his broken metatarsal and should be fit to face his old club Everton on Saturday. The England star is reportedly running freely as he undergoes remedial work at United’s Carrington training complex.
Rooney tangles with Reading’s Michael Duberry on the opening day of the season, which sees the Manchester United and England striker out for six weeks.
Rooney enjoys a day at the races with fellow team-mates Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes. Rooney should be back in the England fold for October’s crunch Euro 2008 qualifiers. |
